Rob Carson BSc (Bath)

CEO

Rob is the Founder and CEO of Newtec Vascular Products Ltd and has a broad ranging experience with more than 25 years in the medical device industry from mid-cap US companies through to early stage medical device companies and university spin-outs.

Rob has managed multiple device development projects and taken a number of devices through regulatory clearance and onto the market before securing exits with acquisition partners. Prior to founding Newtec, Rob has held the roles of Operations Director of Dialog Devices Ltd, Cardiak Ltd, Credent Vascular Technologies Ltd and Director of UK Operations for US based LeMaitre Vascular. Rob holds a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Bath.

Rosemary Howell MBA (Oxford)

CLINICAL MANAGER

Rosemary has over 30 years clinical, sales, marketing, business development and management experience in the healthcare sector, working with a variety of companies including Bayer Diagnostics, Smiths Industries, Nutricia, Provalis, Wockhardt and a number of start-up companies. Rosemary originally qualified as a nurse, has a Diploma in Marketing and an MBA. 

Rosemary is involved with managing the clinical studies for Newtec and assisting for preparation of regulatory clearance and market entry.

Stephen Barker MS FRCS

INVENTOR AND MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Steve was a Vascular Surgeon by training and previous worked as the Consultant General Surgeon, Care UK, North East London NHS Treatment Centre and Southampton NHS Treatment Centre, as well as Honorary Senior Lecturer in Surgery, University College London.Honorary.

Stephen was the first surgeon to be awarded a British Heart Foundation Fellowship and is the founder/director of a number of companies including Secret Saviours Ltd., SFH Oxford Ltd., Anatomic Focus Ltd., Oxford Caresense (OCL) Ltd., TEASS Ltd. and previously, Evexar Medical Ltd. and Ark Therapeutics Group plc.
Steve is a series inventor, and holds 20+ patents across medical and cosmetic industries, including many commericalised technologies.
Serving as the inventor and Medical director of Newtec, Steve is involved in all new product development and associated clinical investigation.

William (Bill) Allan BDS (Edinburgh), MBA (Cape Town), AMP (Insead)

CHAIRMAN

Bill is an internationally experienced medical devices executive and entrepreneur who has held a number of global leadership positions with large Multinational medical device companies, including Stryker, Smith & Nephew, Angiodynamics, and Orthovita and CEO of Vascular Flow Technologies.

In addition, he has been instrumental in the successful transition of three small Medical Device companies to exit.

Bill is a visiting lecturer in Medtech startup ‘route to market strategy’ at the University of Cambridge MBE programme and a mentor at the Judge Business School in Cambridge.
